Dr Chris and his team are excited to bring Dr Anabela “Bel” Cagen into the practice. This fulfills a long-standing wish of Chris to diversify the line up around the office further, and give patients a “kinder, gentler” option among the dentist roster – fully realizing that some of his patients may be tiring of his jokes, and such. And having her Wednesday hours suddenly in the mix makes it all the better; win-win.

Observes Chris, “Bel is going to hit the ground running. She fits in nicely with our crew. We share the same love for island work/life balance, especially with water sports, and just being outside. We want her to do well. I think she will!”

Proudly raised on Maui, Dr. Anabela “Bel” Cagen attended both Carden Academy and Seabury Hall for her elementary-through-high-school education. Following Seabury, Bel went to the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs on an athletic scholarship, playing for the women’s volleyball team. As a student athlete, the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference recognized Bel with All Academic Honors all four years, and she ultimately graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Sciences.

Bel continued her education at Oregon Health & Science University where she earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine. She was honored with an induction into the prestigious OKU Dental Honor Society, and awarded with the Academy of General Dentistry’s 2025 Future Leader in General Dentistry Award. Outside of dentistry, Bel enjoys windsurfing, playing and coaching volleyball, skiing, and spending quality time at the beach with her family and friends.
